Creelman-Francisco Classic Golf Tournament

For more than 62 years, Kiwanian golfers from both Divisions 7 and 44 and their guests have gathered on the last Thursday in April for a day of fun and fellowship to raise funds for local Kiwanis projects. For the last 35 years, the fundraiser has benefited the Kiwanis Family House.

The tournament is named for Bob Creelman, a former Division 7 Lt. Governor who started the tournaments in 1960 and ran it until his death in 1977. Red Francisco, from the Davis Kiwanis Club, took on the running of the tournament after Bob’s death and ran it until the mid-90s. Now, Bob’s son and long-time Kiwanian, Chris Creelman, runs the yearly tournament. This tournament is believed to be the longest continuously-run Kiwanis Golf Tournament in the US.

The tournament is played at the Davis Municipal Golf Course, a flat, short course so golfers of all abilities are encouraged to play. The reasonable cost includes golf, cart, dinner, and prizes.
